[MHN] Director Ko Kyung Min's new film, 'Deja Vu' topped the box office charts upon its release in theaters on May 30th. MHN sat down with Lee Chun Hee, the actor who starred as detective 'Cha In Tae' in the film.

During the interview, Lee shared what he wanted to portray by playing his character.

"The paradoxical part lies in the fact how 'In Tae' is a detective. There are duties he is responsible for. He can actually use his job as an advantage by thinking that he'll take revenge for his sister by all means. Everything including that is something 'In Tae' plans in mind. In the film, it's not that well portrayed but I first had to ponder if he was a psychopath or just a psycho. I didn't interpret it as 'In Tae' being a psycho but had to show his side of the story, his point of view. There were many reasons piled inside of him to really take vengeance," was what the actor explained of his role.

He continued by saying, "In Tae doesn't understand how people could just live on with no guilt. But since he doesn't know where his younger sister is, he structures out everything in advance. It's kind of an inner conflict he goes through. He has to investigate the case as a detective but also wants to kill everyone and take vengeance on them. We had a script but that didn't show much. That's why I wanted to do this role and later when he survives, In Tae's shift gives that creepy, horrific shock. There are parts that were deleted here and there."

The movie 'Deja Vu' is about a car accident that happened one day. Soon-to-be-married couple 'Woo Jin' and 'Ji Min' kill a person by car, but flees the site as a hit and run. Ever since the accident, Ji Min keeps seeing the dead woman and visits the police to confess, only to be confused to know that the accident wasn't real. Throughout the film, Ji Min grows weary and suffers from the mysterious incident. Rated for viewers over 15.
