'The first time is always filled with stumbles. And fear'

Son Yeon-jae is now 24-years-old, and retired last year from being a national athlete. Now she's living a daily life as an ordinary student. She's ready for a new start. 

Son stood in front of the camera for the photo shoot of Celebrity&Fashion magazine 'InStyle'. It's almost been a year since she done any modeling but she posed like a pro. Clearly she couldn't hide her excitement though, "I've been enjoying school life. Enjoying the ordinary life. But photo shoots make me feel butterflies!"

At her age, being a "retiree" may sound bizarre but she says, "I think this is one of the pros being a gymnastics athlete. How fascinating is it, to be able to live another life in one's early twenties?" That's some grown-up talk. 

Having lived a life of only performing gymnastics, Son is still thinking about what she wants to do with her life. "There's a lot I would like to do. I now have the time to take on a different view of things that I used to think were very ordinary but could never experience myself. Since I'm learning about life I want to challenge myself in many areas," was how she shared her hope of the future.
